Abandoned

People find beauty in strange things. I know people who are able to go to dumpsters and find treasures. They just happen to see trash differently than the person who threw it away. I'm not one of those people.

But I do find beauty in things that are sometimes a little off the mark. And I love how my camera lets me show others the beauty I see.

I remember when this house didn't look like this. I remember when someone had it kept nicely. I remember when people lived in this house. Now it's clearly alone, left to deteriorate.
I have fallen in love with this house, just the way it is.

What's sad is that that could be a gorgeous house...

I drove by that house this weekend when I went down to visit my parents. Looking at it is always bittersweet -- I think of the people that must have lived in it and how they must have good memories of it. If a house could be sad, I think that one would be -- I think it would want more people to fix it up and live in it and make memories.
